Dharashiv, October 29 – In the 50th Golden Jubilee Junior State Championship and Selection Trials Kho-Kho Competition, the host Dharashiv along with teams from Solapur and Sangli have entered the semifinals in both groups. Pune in the Boys group and Thane in the girls' group also reached the semifinals.

 

This competition, organized jointly by the Maharashtra Kho-Kho Association and Osmanabad District Kho-Kho Association, is taking place at the District Education and Training Institute's ground. Except for the match between Pune and Thane in the Boy’s group, all other matches were one-sided. Pune defeated Thane by 14-12, maintaining a two-point lead with four minutes to spare. Bhavesh Masher (2:20, 1:10 min and 3 points) and Vilas Malusare (2:20, 1:40 min defense) were instrumental in their victory. Thane's Ashish Gautam (1:20, 2 min and 2 points) fell short in his efforts.

 

In the second match, Solapur achieved a solid victory over Ahilyanagar with a score of 11-9. Sujit Metkari (3, 1:10 min and 2 points) and Faraz Sheikh (1:50 min, 3 points) played versatile roles. Captain Krishna Bansode (3:20 and 2:40 min) showcased excellent defense. Anay Walhekar (2:10 min.) and Krishna Kapanar (4 points) from Ahilyanagar also put up a good fight.

 

In the third match, Sangli decisively beat Nashik with a score of 11-8. Atharv Patil (2:40 min and 2 points) played a versatile game for Sangli. Prajwal Bansode and Sujal Mane each took out three opponents. Manoj Walawane (1:40 min, 2 opponents) from Nashik could not turn the tide.

 

In the fourth match, Dharashiv, led by Haradya Vasave’s versatile play, defeated Mumbai 15-6. He was unbeaten in the first round for 3:30 min and in the second round defended for 1:40 min while eliminating four opponents. Vilas Valvi maintained defense for four minutes. Except for Shreyas Saundalkar (1:20 min defense) and Sujal Shintre (1:10 min defense), no other Mumbai player managed to hold their ground.


 

Solapur Beats Nashik in Girls' Group

The match between Nashik and Solapur in the girls' group was highly competitive. Trailing at halftime with a score of 4-7, Solapur turned the game around to win 13-9. Sneha Lamkane, who was out in the first round within a minute, defended valiantly for five minutes in the second round, taking out five opponents with her sharp attacks. Captain Sakshi Dethe (2, 2:20 min and 2 points) also played a versatile role. Sushma Chaudhary from Nashik put up a good fight (2, 2:30 min defense).


In the second match of the girls' group, Dharashiv secured a victory over Ratnagiri with a score of 14-7. Ashwini Shinde scored 4 points, while Suhani Dhotre played for 2:20 min. Suhani took out five opponents with her fierce attacks. Riddhi Chavan from Ratnagiri contributed with 1:30 min of play, and Divya Palwe eliminated three opponents.

 

In the third match, Thane defeated Mumbai Suburban with a score of 9-6. Dhanshree Kank made an impact with four minutes of play, while Sangavi Talwadkar remained unbeaten for 1:30 min and took out three opponents. Divya Gaikwad from Mumbai Suburban played 1:50 min defense and Siya Bhadre eliminated three opponents.

 

In the fourth match, Sangli defeated Pune 9-5. Pratiksha Birajdar was crucial to their victory with her versatile play, defending for four minutes and taking out four opponents. Akshara Dhole from Pune played 1 min and remained unbeaten for 1:30 min in defense.
