Dharashiv, Sangli will fight for the title in both groups

Dharashiv, October 30 – In the Golden Jubilee (50th) Junior State Championship and Selection Trial Kho-Kho Competition, the final match for the championship / title will be held between the host teams Dharashiv and Sangli in both the boys’ and girls’ categories.

The competition, organized jointly by the Maharashtra Kho-Kho Association and Osmanabad District Kho-Kho Association, is currently taking place at the District Education and Training Institute's grounds. In the girls’ semifinal, Sangli defeated Solapur by 10-7. Their lead of 5-3 at halftime secured them the victory. Pratiksha Birajdar showcased a strong performance by taking out five opponents & defended for 4 minutes. Sanika Chafe supported her with four minutes of solid defense. Solapur’s Sneha Lamakane (1.30, 1.40 min, 2 points) and Prajakta Bansode (2.00, 2.30 min) fell short in their attempts.

In the second match, Dharashiv triumphed over Thane with an 11-7 score. The architects of their victory were the versatile performers Ashwini Shinde (3 min, 3 points) and Pranali Kale (4 min, 2 points). Thane's Diksha Katekar (2 points) could not make a significant impact.

In the boys’ semifinal, Solapur faced defeat against Sangli with a score of 15-19. The halftime score of 7-10 was a setback for Solapur. Sangli's Parth Devkate eliminated six opponents in a sharp attack with 1.10 minutes defence. Atharv Patil also delivered a versatile performance (1.20, 1.40 min, and 5 points). From Solapur, Shubham Chavan (1.20, 1.30 min) and Amraan Sheikh (1 min, 3 points) could not turn the tide.

In the second semifinal, due to Bharatsingh Vasave’s versatile play (1.40 min, 3 points), Dharashiv managed to beat Pune by a narrow margin of 13-12, maintaining a margin of 4.50 minutes. Hardya Vasave (2, 2.20 min, and 1 point) assisted him well. Pune’s Chetan Gundgal (1, 1 min, and 4 points) could not deliver enough to change the outcome.
