Mumbai, October 25, 2024 –
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has announced the second edition of the
"Mazdock Mumbai Ten Kilometre Challenge" in celebration of its 250th
anniversary. The event will include a Ten-kilometre” race and a
three-kilometre family run. This competition is open to everyone, and
registration is now live on the website www.mazdock10k.com.
The event will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2024, starting from Azad Maidan. The Ten-Kilometre race will begin at 6:00 AM, followed by the Three-Kilometre race at 6:20 AM. The organizers mentioned that participants will compete in categories based on age: 16 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and above for both men and women.
The organizers have set aside a total prize pool of five lakh rupees, to be awarded in various age categories. For the top three positions in this competition, prizes will be distributed as follows: In the 16 to 29 age group, the prizes are ₹50,000, ₹25,000, and ₹15,000 for the first, second, and third positions, respectively. In the 30 to 39, 40 to 49, and 50 to 59 categories, the top three will receive ₹20,000, ₹15,000, and ₹7,500. For those aged 60 and above, the prizes will be ₹15,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000. Additionally, all participants will receive a premium dry-fit T-shirt, a bag, a medal upon completion, a jacket, and a refreshing drink after the event.

rich heritage. The organizers clarified that the event is designed to promote
health and fitness awareness in society and to highlight MDL's national
contributions.

Last year, nearly three thousand competitors participated in the event. However, the organizers expressed strong confidence that this year’s participation would be double to approximately six thousand.
