Sharvee Save's All-Round Performance in Vain
Thane: Despite
Sharvee Save’s stellar all-round performance, which included three wickets and
a half-century, her efforts were not enough to prevent the defeat of the
Palghar Dahanu Taluka Sports Association. In the 40-over one-day match of the Arjun
Madhavi Women’s Cricket Tournament, organized by Dr. Rajesh Madhavi Sports
Association and Daivagna Cricket Club, the Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation team
secured a 43-run victory to advance to the next round.
Batting first,
the Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation set a target of 228 runs, losing 9 wickets in
40 overs. Experienced batter Punam Raut played a crucial innings, scoring 78
runs off 75 balls with 9 boundaries. Anisha Shetty (30) and Sara Samant (28)
provided valuable support. Among the bowlers, Yayati Gawad claimed 4 wickets,
while Sharvee Save took 3 wickets for 34 runs in her 8 overs.
In response,
Palghar Dahanu faced a challenging start. Sharvee Save, however, led the charge
with a brilliant 81 off 67 balls, which included one six and 11 boundaries,
keeping her team’s hopes alive. Unfortunately, after her dismissal, the
remaining batters, except Snehalata Dhangad and Lilli Deep (both scoring 26
runs each), failed to deliver, and the team managed only 185/9 in 40 overs.
Dilip
Vengsarkar Foundation’s bowlers, Aditi Surve, Siddhi Pawar, and Kritika
Krishnakumar, each picked up two wickets, maintaining control throughout the
game.
