February 6, 2025: SG Pipers Cheetahs bounced back from their opening-day loss
with an emphatic 24-16 win over Sohail Khan Ent. Panthers in Match 3 of the
Meteora Developers World Padel League at the Nesco Center, Mumbai.
The
Cheetahs began strong, with their mixed doubles pair, Pol Hernandez and Julieta
Bidahorria, dominating Sohail Khan Ent. Panthers’ Rama Valenzuela and Marina
Guinart 6-2.
In
the men’s doubles, the Cheetahs’ Teodoro Zapata and Enrique Goenaga overcame
Panthers’ Javier Barahona and Javier Garcia 6-4, extending their team’s lead to
12-6.
The
women’s doubles saw Claudia Fernandez and Beatriz Gonzalez of SG Pipers
Cheetahs redeem themselves after a tough opening day, defeating Marta Ortega
and Sofia Araujo 6-3.
Despite
a late fightback from the Panthers in the final men’s doubles set, where Javier
Barahona and Javier Leal edged out Francisco Guerrero and Juanlu Esbri 7-6 in a
tie-break, the Cheetahs’ early dominance ensured a comfortable 24-16 win.
Match
4 between Vernost Jaguars and Game Changers Lions is currently underway. The
league stage concludes on February 7, with the top two teams advancing to the
finals on February 8.
