registered their second win in the Mumbai Football Association (MFA)
Mumbai Super Corporate League (2025-2026) with a convincing 2-0
victory over Teleperformance SC. After missing early chances,
Catholic Gymkhana stepped up in the second half to dominate the match and
secure a well-deserved win.
Missed Opportunities in the First Half
In the match played at the Karnataka SA
Ground, Churchgate, Catholic Gymkhana started on an attacking note. Ruben
Fernandes and Karan Kapoor both had good chances to score, but
failed to convert, keeping the scoreline goalless in the first half.
Red Card Turns the Game
Just seconds before half-time, Teleperformance
SC defender Rohit More was shown a red card for bringing down
Ruben Fernandes while he was advancing towards goal. This reduced
Teleperformance to ten men and shifted the momentum in favour of Catholic
Gymkhana.
Kaustubh Meher Opens the Scoring
Catholic Gymkhana capitalised on their
advantage in the second half. In the 9th minute after the break, Karan
Kapoor cleverly lobbed the ball over the advancing goalkeeper Myron D.,
setting up Kaustubh Meher, who finished comfortably to give his team a 1-0
lead.
Ruben Fernandes Doubles the Lead
Towards the end of the match, a defensive
error by Teleperformance SC midfielder Deviprasad P., who played
a poor back pass, allowed Ruben Fernandes to seize the opportunity. He
ran towards goal and calmly placed the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0,
sealing the victory.
