Mumbai : The CCI Snooker Classic 2026, currently being played at
the iconic Wilson Jones Billiards Hall of the Cricket Club of India (CCI),
continued to produce thrilling encounters. Debutant Raj Chari displayed
great fighting spirit in his first appearance in the tournament, but eventually
went down to Nilesh Sangar in a closely fought match.
Nilesh Sangar Edges Past Raj Chari in
Decider
In one of the most exciting matches of the
day, Nilesh Sangar defeated Raj Chari 3-2 (59-44, 44-38,
24-51, 19-54, 68-17). Sangar won the first two frames to take an early
lead. However, Raj Chari fought back strongly by winning the next two frames
and pushed the match into a deciding frame. In the final frame, Sangar
raised his game and secured the victory to advance to the next round.
Sukil Venkataramani Registers Comfortable
Win
In another match, Sukil Venkataramani
recorded a 3-0 (56-36, 65-51, 57-55) victory over Ajit Gharat.
Venkataramani maintained steady control throughout the match and won all three
frames with consistent play.
Veer Singh Nagi and Vivek Narayan Advance
Among other results, Veer Singh Nagi
defeated Shubhojit Roy 3-1 (36-75, 55-33, 61-47, 60-55) after
recovering from the loss of the opening frame. Vivek Narayan also
secured a hard-fought victory over Pranav Desai 3-2 (59-10, 29-63,
57-48, 48-68, 81-52) to move into the next stage of the competition.
Convincing Wins for Ashish Gore and Kalpesh
Mewada
Ashish Gore recorded a comfortable 3-0 (45-34,
61-53, 66-23) victory against Mohsin Shaikh. Similarly, Kalpesh
Mewada defeated Sagar Desai 3-0 (54-50, 84-53, 74-36) with an
impressive performance.
Ashok Ramteke and Rahul Narang Progress
In other matches, Ashok Ramteke
defeated Nikhilesh Pillai 3-1 (59-18, 20-60, 54-49, 79-72). Rahul
Narang also progressed after defeating Anant Mehta 3-1 (50-40,
41-44, 62-11, 60-30).
The CCI Snooker Classic 2026
continues to witness competitive and closely fought matches, with players
