Mumbai : In a thrilling quarter-final clash packed with action and intensity, Young Friends Cricket Club rode on a fabulous all-round performance from Aayush Zimare to secure a convincing 5-wicket victory over Mumbai Police Gymkhana in the 76th Salar Jung Invitation T20 Cricket Tournament 2026, showcasing a perfect blend of disciplined bowling and aggressive batting.

 

Police Innings Restricted; Zimare & Sayed Strike Early

Batting first, Mumbai Police Gymkhana struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for 123 runs in 19.4 overs. Harsh Salunkhe top-scored with 28 runs, while Rohit Pol contributed 21 runs, but the rest of the batting line-up failed to convert starts. The bowling attack of Young Friends CC was led brilliantly by Aayush Zimare (2 for 22) and Hashim Sayed (2 for 28), who kept the opposition under constant pressure.

 

Zimare’s Whirlwind Fifty; Chase Completed in Style

Chasing a modest target, Aayush Zimare once again took charge with the bat, smashing a superb 52 runs off 32 balls (8 fours, 1 six), setting the tone for the chase. He was well supported by Sahil Jadhav, who played a composed knock of 42 runs, ensuring that Young Friends CC comfortably reached 127 for 5 in 16.2 overs to seal the victory.

 

Clinical Finish; Young Friends March Ahead

Despite efforts from Nisar Shaikh (2 for 28), the Mumbai Police bowlers could not stop the momentum. With Aayush Zimare’s match-winning all-round performance and strong support from Sahil Jadhav, Young Friends Cricket Club registered a solid 5-wicket win, advancing confidently to the next stage and emerging as strong contenders in the tournament.
