: The 64th Sir Benegal Rama Rau Bank Shield Cricket Tournament 2026 witnessed a thrilling and energetic start as Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Yes Bank registered confident 6-wicket victories, showcasing dominance and setting the tone for an exciting tournament ahead under the aegis of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

 

RBI Cruise Past India First Life Insurance

In the opening clash at Karnatak SA Ground, India First Life Insurance posted a modest total of 103 for 8 in 20 overs, with Dattaram Hindalkar top-scoring with an unbeaten 44 runs. The bowling unit of RBI performed efficiently with Abhijeet (2 for 12), Sandeep V. (2 for 22) and Mahesh Mishra (2 for 27) sharing the wickets. In reply, RBI chased down the target comfortably, scoring 104 for 4 in 27.4 overs, powered by steady contributions from Vishwas Krishna (30 runs), Sandeep V. (26 runs) and Ketan Dangar (23 runs), while Prabhat Tiwari (2 for 28) tried to resist from the opposition side.


Yes Bank Register Comfortable Win Over NSE

At Sunder CC Ground, National Stock Exchange (NSE) were bowled out for 106 runs in 18 overs, with Sourav Mehra (33 runs) and Kuldeep Soni (23 runs) offering some resistance. The bowling brilliance of Harshal Khedekar (4 for 20) and Vishal Tatlare (3 for 4) dismantled their innings. Chasing the target, Yes Bank displayed controlled batting to reach 122 for 4 in 13.1 overs, with Srinivas Bandeen (37 runs) and Shailesh Agarwal (31 runs)* leading the charge, while Kalpesh Hadiya (3 for 41) was the pick of the bowlers for NSE.
