Nashik to Host State Swimming Championship After 14 Years
Over 700 swimmers from 27 districts to compete
winners to qualify for National Championships
Nashik: Nashik will host the Maharashtra State Age Group Swimming Championship after a gap of 14 years. The championship is being jointly organised by the Maharashtra Aquatic Association (MAA) and the Nashik District Swimming Association. The three-day competition will be held from July 18 to 20 at the Jijamata International Swimming Pool, Nashik Road.
More than 700 swimmers
from nearly 27 districts across Maharashtra are expected to participate
in the Sub-Junior and Junior categories. The championship will also serve as
the selection event for the National Championships.
Live Streaming and Modern
Facilities
The championship will
feature live streaming on YouTube, allowing swimming enthusiasts to
watch the events online. Electronic touch pads will be used for accurate
timing, while LED display screens will provide live results and race updates,
ensuring international-standard competition management.
Gateway to National Championships
Swimmers selected from
this championship will represent Maharashtra at the National Championships.
Junior swimmers will qualify for the National Championship in Bhubaneswar,
Odisha, while Sub-Junior swimmers will compete at the National Championship
in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

After 14 Years with SFI Recognition
Maharashtra Aquatic
Association (MAA) Secretary Raju Palkar said that the State Age Group
Swimming Championship is being organised under the aegis of the MAA after a gap
of 14 years, following recognition by the Swimming Federation of India (SFI).
He said the association
is proud to host the championship once again. According to him, the event will
provide valuable exposure not only to swimmers but also to coaches and parents
by giving them an opportunity to understand the format, rules and competitive
environment of a high-level swimming championship.
Inauguration and Registration
The championship will be
inaugurated on July 18 at 10.00 am in the presence of distinguished
guests.
Registration and
reporting of all participants will take place on July 17 at 4.00 pm at
the swimming pool.
Safety and Event Management
The competition will
begin at 8.00 am every day. Lifesaving Mumbai will serve as the
official safety partner. Medals and prizes will be presented to winners at the
end of each day's events. Organisers have made comprehensive arrangements to
ensure smooth, safe and disciplined conduct of the championship.
