Riyaa Dominates Dea
Mumbai, September 1: Young squash player Riyaa Dalal
produced a dominant performance to defeat Dea Mehta 11-4, 11-0, 11-0
in the Girls’ U-13 Round of 16 match of the 49th Bombay Gymkhana Maharashtra
State Open Squash Tournament 2026, played at the Bombay Gymkhana courts on
Tuesday. Riyaa controlled the match from the beginning and completed a
comfortable straight-game victory.
Ariana Makes Easy Progress
Ariana Almoula also had a comfortable outing, defeating Naina
Varma 11-3, 11-3, 11-2 to book her place in the quarter-finals.
Ariana dominated the rallies and never allowed her opponent to settle into the
match.
Rathika Cruises Through
In the Women’s Round of 16, Rathika
Suthanthira Seelan registered a convincing 11-3, 11-5, 11-8 victory
over Vasundara Nangare. Rathika maintained control throughout the match
to advance to the next round.
Akanksha Records Another Easy Win
Akanksha Salunkhe also advanced after defeating Akanksha
Gupta 11-2, 11-2, 11-6. Salunkhe was in complete command and
finished the match in straight games.
Other Girls’ U-13 Results
In the Girls’ U-13 Round of 16, Sameeksha
Sugumar defeated Vavya Gupta 11-6, 11-2, 11-7, while Aarana
Rao beat Sharanya Ghosh 11-3, 11-3, 11-7.
Women’s Round of 16 Results
In the Women’s Round of 16, Aadya Budhia
thrashed Sneha Waghmare 11-0, 11-1, 11-1, while Vyomika
Khandelwal defeated Durga Hiru Paradhi 11-5, 11-3, 11-1.
