Mumbai, November 23:
Adit Raja (Mumbai) and Sumit Ahuja (Ulhasnagar) advanced to the finals of the
Senior Men’s 15-red Snooker event at the Malabar Hill Club State Ranking
Snooker Tournament 2024, following contrasting victories in their respective
semi-final matches on Saturday evening at the MHC billiards hall.
Raja fought back from
losing the first frame to defeat home challenger Manav Panchal (Mumbai) 4-1 in
their best-of-7-frame encounter. Panchal, playing on his home turf, started
strongly, winning the opening frame with ease. However, Raja quickly regained
his form, making breaks of 42 in the second frame and 31 in the fifth to seal
the match with frame scores of 19-60, 79-0, 60-33, 69-46, and 72-9, advancing
to the final.
In the other

Yudhishthir Jaising (Mumbai). Jaising began well, compiling an unfinished 39
break to win the first frame. However, Ahuja bounced back to win a tight second
frame on the black. After the two players shared the next four frames, the
match went to a deciding seventh frame. Ahuja capitalized on his chances,
staying ahead to win the final frame 58-24 and complete the match with scores
