Mahek Pokar’s captaincy-worthy century led Victory Cricket Club to a commanding
win over Sportsfield Cricket Club in the fifth Arjun Madhavi Memorial Women’s
One-Day Cricket Tournament, jointly organized by Dr. Rajesh Madhavi Sports
Association and Daivajnya Cricket Club. Victory bowled out Sportsfield for just
91 runs while defending a massive target of 293, securing a resounding triumph.
In
the fifth match of the tournament held at Central Ground, opening pair Mahek Pokar
and Alina Mulla provided a solid start, crafting a remarkable partnership of
184 runs in 155 balls. The duo smashed 30 boundaries and a six to lay a strong
foundation for a massive total. Alina contributed 61 runs off 11 fours and a
six, while Mahek hammered 112 runs off 101 balls, including 20 boundaries.
Kritika Yadav added a valuable 48 runs. For Sportsfield, Akriti Bhoir took 2
wickets, while Palak Dharamshi and Deepika Bhariya claimed a wicket each.
Chasing
the huge target, Sportsfield’s batters struggled to handle the pressure. Only
Priyanka Rathod (31) and Palak Dharamshi (29) managed to offer some resistance.
Victory’s bowlers kept the opponents in check, with Alina Khan bagging 3
wickets and Prisha Devrukhkar, Vidhi Mathuria, and Tanvi Parab taking one
wicket each.
