Spinner Nikhil Gurav Puts M.V. Sports Club on Top
Mumbai: Left-arm spinner Nikhil Gurav delivered a
brilliant bowling performance, claiming 6 wickets for 27 runs, to help M.V.
Sports Club dismiss MIG Cricket Academy for 143 in 53.4 overs in the first
innings on the opening day of their 2-day semi-final match in the 28th Ajit
Naik Memorial Selection Trial Boys’ U-14 Cricket Tournament at the MIG CC
ground.
Despite good starts, the MIG CA batters failed to convert
their innings into significant scores, falling to Gurav's teasing spell.
Contributions from Vedang Mishra (40), Pradnyankur Bhalerao (34), and Darshav
Ojha (30) helped MIG CA post a respectable total.
In response, M.V. Sports Club ended day one at 107 for 4
in 28 overs, with Harsh Kadam leading the charge, remaining unbeaten on 46.
Meanwhile, the second semi-final between Souvenir CC and
Islam Gymkhana was evenly poised. Souvenir CC were bowled out for 139 in 40
overs, with Shiv Tripathi scoring 39 runs. Abrar Shaikh (4/40) and Aditya
Pandey (3/35) starred with the ball for Islam Gymkhana. In reply, Islam
Gymkhana were 39 for 3 in 11 overs at stumps, with Shiv Tripathi contributing
with the ball, taking 3 for 11.
