Hridini Impresses in
Mahindra Park Win
Mumbai : Mahindra Park
delivered a determined performance to secure a fighting 47-35 (half-time:
18-24) victory against host Nagpada Basketball Association in a Girls’ Under-18
first-round match of the NNBA Basketball Tournament 2024, played under
floodlights at the Late Bachoo Khan Municipal Playground, Nagpada, late
Saturday evening.
Mahindra Park's victory
was spearheaded by sharpshooter Hridini Sawardekar, who contributed a
match-high 17 points. She was well-supported by teammates Laranya Amin, who
added 13 points, and Grace Pereira, who chipped in with 10 points. The Nagpada
Basketball Association team fought hard, with Laxmi Gupta (14 points) and Saira
Shah (12 points) leading their scoring efforts.
In a Girls’ Under-14
match, Christ Church secured a comfortable 16-6 victory over Villa Teresa.
Ananya Mane led the scoring for Christ Church with 6 points, while Jizelle
Pereira and Sysha Ranka contributed 4 points each.
In Boys’ Under-14
action, Campion School displayed dominance, cruising to a 41-17 (half-time:
19-5) win against Green Acres. Shrikrishna M. top-scored for Campion with 12
points, while Reyansh S. added 6 points. Green Acres’ top scorer was Hriday M.
with 6 points.
