Technical Expertise and Organized Efforts Behind Maharashtra Kho-Kho Team’s Success - Prof. Dr. Chandrjeet Jadhav

In the 43rd Junior National Kho-Kho Championship, Maharashtra achieved a historic feat by clinching the double gold crown for the 10th consecutive time. The boys' team secured their 19th straight title, and the girls' team won their 10th consecutive championship, marking a golden chapter in Kho-Kho history. This victory represents the boys’ 35th and the girls’ 26th national title.

Rural Players Shine with Awards

Jitendra Vasave from Dharashiv was honored with the "Veer Abhimanyu" award, and Suhani Dhotre received the "Janaki" award, showcasing remarkable progress by rural players in Kho-Kho. This indicates an increasing intensity in the competition between urban and rural players.

Inspiration from Odisha's Facilities and Maharashtra’s Determination

Prof. Dr. Chandrjeet Jadhav, representing the Maharashtra Kho-Kho Association, credited the team's hard work, innovative coaching, and technical skills for this achievement. Highlighting Odisha's advanced sports facilities, he said, “Odisha has established high-performance centers and regularly plays Kho-Kho on mats. Despite the lack of such facilities in Maharashtra, our players have delivered outstanding performances.”

He added, “The coaches provided precise guidance, and planned practice sessions and technical strategies helped the team secure this victory. The collective efforts of the coaches, players, and managers are the cornerstone of this success.”

Government Support and the Need for High-Performance Centers

Prof. Jadhav appreciated the government’s initiatives, such as direct recruitment, 5% reservation, and prize schemes for national and Khelo India championships, which have motivated players to pursue sports. However, he emphasized the urgent need for high-performance centers in Maharashtra. “Such centers would provide players with better facilities and enable them to perform at their best on national and international platforms,” he said.

Maharashtra's Determination and Future Challenges

Maharashtra’s victory symbolizes dedication, skill, and perseverance. Prof. Jadhav’s leadership and guidance played a pivotal role in this success. He expressed confidence that the Maharashtra team would continue to maintain its winning streak at the national and international levels in the future.
