Kadian
Dominates Bagri with a 4-0 Victory at CCI Snooker Classic 2025
Mumbai, Haryana's cueist, Digvijay Kadian, was in sublime form as he cruised
to a commanding 4-0 victory over local player Anurag Bagri in the second round
of the Rs 13.5 lakh CCI Snooker Classic 2025, held at the CCI’s Wilson Jones
billiards hall on Wednesday.
Kadian,
the former Indian Junior National champion representing Income Tax, showcased
exceptional control and impressive potting skills. He built substantial breaks
in all four frames, beginning with 48 and 60 in the opening frame. He followed
up with breaks of 50 and 53 in the next two frames before wrapping up the match
with a brilliant 125 break in the fourth, securing frame wins of 108-17, 69-32,
80-52, and 125-2. His 125 break marked the highest of the competition.
In
the most thrilling match of the day, Mumbai's Rahul Sachdev displayed top form
to edge past Kreishh Gurbaxani in a nail-biting 4-3 encounter. The match saw
substantial breaks from both players, with Sachdev compiling breaks of 42 (4th
frame), 116 (6th frame), and 59 (7th frame). Gurbaxani, however, had impressive
runs of 80, 85, and 63 in the second, third, and fifth frames, respectively.
The final scoreline read 63-33, 0-80, 85-1, 82-38, 53-79, 116-0, and 63-11.
Local
players Abhishek Bajaj and Nikhil Saigal also advanced to the round of 32, with
contrasting victories. Bajaj dominated qualifier Abhijeet More, winning 4-0
with scores of 53-5, 70-15, 65-44, and 74-5. Saigal, on the other hand,
overcame CCI member Nikhil Ootam 4-2 in a closely contested match (39-43,
66-53, 53-39, 55-50, 32-63, and 62-44).
In
another thrilling battle, Dilip Kumar of Railways triumphed 4-3 over Pune's
Suraj Rathi. Kumar’s composed play saw him notch up breaks of 36 in the second
frame and 59 in the deciding frame to win 3-59, 55-16, 45-70, 68-33, 36-89,
61-47, and 63-34. Rathi, who impressed with a 57 break in the fifth frame,
couldn’t quite finish on top.
