Mumbai : Experienced cueists Nalin Patel and Raja Subramaniam recorded comfortable victories in the first round of the CCI Snooker Classic 2026, currently being played at the iconic Wilson Jones Billiards Hall of the Cricket Club of India (CCI) in Mumbai. The day witnessed several impressive performances as players displayed fine cue control, precision and composure to progress further in the tournament.

 

Nalin Patel Dominates Harishankar I.

Veteran billiards player Nalin Patel produced a commanding performance to defeat Harishankar I. 3-0 (72-43, 75-50, 57-31). Patel maintained control throughout the match, playing accurate shots and consistently building pressure on his opponent to secure a convincing straight-frame victory.

 

Raja Subramaniam Cruises Past Ayus Shah

Another experienced cueist, Raja Subramaniam, also delivered a strong performance as he defeated Ayus Shah 3-0 (68-39, 44-32, 58-31). Subramaniam dominated the proceedings with steady and calculated play, winning all three frames comfortably to advance to the next round.

 

Aditya Agrawal Defeats Imdad Khan

In another notable match, Aditya Agrawal defeated Imdad Khan 3-1 (58-3, 58-17, 43-50, 71(54)-5). Agrawal took an early lead by winning the first two frames. Although Imdad fought back to win the third frame, Agrawal sealed the match in the fourth frame with an excellent break of 71 (54).

 

Cyrus Aga Wins Thrilling Decider

One of the most exciting matches of the day saw Cyrus Aga overcome Ayush Patil 3-2 (25-51, 66-43, 21-76, 61-15, 51-42). After trailing in the match, Aga showed strong composure at crucial moments and won the last two frames to clinch a hard-fought victory.

 

Other First Round Results

In other first round matches, Puneet Thakkar defeated Amit Pujari 3-0 (52-1, 75-9, 65-39), while Karan Chugh beat Anuj Agrawal 3-1 (58-36, 73-30, 47-61, 53-45). Tathya Sachdev registered a 3-0 (53-28, 80-10, 83-50) win over Shyam Dameja, and Pranav Todi defeated Gaurav Shah 3-0 (61-19, 56-12, 49-16). Azam Khan overcame Yash Rungta 3-1 (77-7, 62-31, 22-64, 51-14), while Kersi Aga beat Mohd. Faiz Shaikh 3-0 (59-23, 54-12, 52-43).
