Mumbai : Experienced cueist Vishal Gehani and Tapan Singhania
registered hard-fought victories in the CCI Snooker Classic 2026,
currently underway at the Wilson Jones Billiards Hall of the Cricket Club of
India (CCI). The second round matches produced several close contests as
players displayed excellent control and composure under pressure.
Vishal Gehani Edges Past Sukil Venkataramani
In a closely contested match, Vishal
Gehani defeated Sukil Venkataramani 3-2 (30-74, 67-10, 25-77,
61-54, 80-21). Venkataramani won the first and third frames, but Gehani
staged a strong comeback by winning the fourth and fifth frames, sealing
the match in the deciding frame to progress to the next round.
Tapan Singhania Wins Decider Against Jignish
Choksi
In another thrilling encounter, Tapan
Singhania overcame Jignish Choksi 3-2 (49-35, 53-60, 32-66,
69-62, 63-47). The match remained evenly balanced throughout, but Singhania
produced steady play in the final frame to secure victory and advance
further in the tournament.
Tathya Sachdev Records Comfortable Victory
Tall cueist Tathya Sachdev maintained
his consistent form and defeated Sharad Sharma 3-0 (52-5, 75-8, 72-8)
in a one-sided contest. Sachdev dominated all three frames with confident and
controlled play.
Other Matches Produce Close Finishes
Among other results, Mahesh Jagdale
defeated Sagar Kanjani 3-1 (29-69, 83-31, 64-23, 53-24) after
recovering from the loss of the opening frame. Kalpesh Mewada edged past
Cyrus Aga 3-2 (51-63, 65-32, 35-62, 73(55)-67, 58-11), while Om
Sawant beat Laukik Pathare 3-2 (54-20, 15-62, 62-37, 17-61,
61-43) in another close encounter.

In other matches, Mayur Garg defeated
Lakshmi Narayan 3-2 (65-31, 33-61, 61-72, 99(58)-15, 64-31) with
an impressive performance. Azam Khan registered a hard-fought 3-2
(14-69, 64(60)-9, 24-64, 64-15, 57-52) win over Aditya Shandilya,
while Karan Chugh defeated Selvel Samuel 3-1 (15-55, 72-26,
51-37, 82-62).
The CCI Snooker Classic 2026
