: The Yonex Sunrise Manoj Ramchandra Memorial State Open Badminton
Tournament 2026 has received an overwhelming response, with a total of 360
entries confirming participation. The tournament is being conducted under
the aegis of the Badminton Federation of India and the Maharashtra
Badminton Association, and organised by the North Indian Association
and Padukone Shuttlers' Academy, Mumbai.
Multiple
Categories to Showcase Talent
The
tournament will feature competitions in Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles,
Boys’ & Girls’ Under-15, and Boys’ & Girls’ Under-11 categories.
Matches will be played at the North Indian Association and Matunga
Gymkhana courts, providing a competitive platform for players across
different age groups.
Attractive
Prize Money for Senior Categories
In
the Men’s and Women’s Singles events, the winners will receive a cash
prize of Rs 41,000 each, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs
31,000 each. The third and fourth place finishers will earn Rs 21,000
and Rs 11,000 respectively.
Special
Awards for Junior Categories
In
the Under-15 Boys’ and Girls’ Singles, the winners will receive Rs
8,500, runners-up Rs 5,500, and third place finishers Rs 3,500.
These prizes are sponsored by Sandeep Thacker in memory of his late son Nihar
Thacker.
Encouragement
for Young Shuttlers in U-11
For
the Under-11 Boys’ and Girls’ Singles, winners will be awarded Rs
6,000 each, while the runners-up and third place finishers will receive Rs
4,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively, encouraging young talent to excel.
