Mumbai : In a sensational twist at the Yonex Sunrise Manoj Ramchandra Memorial Maharashtra State Open Badminton Tournament, unseeded Ojas Gedam pulled off a massive upset by defeating top seed Sankalp Chandragurula in straight games 15-10, 15-4 at the Matunga Gymkhana courts in Mumbai. The stunning victory has emerged as one of the biggest highlights of the tournament, organised by the North Indian Association and Jitesh Padukone Academy under the aegis of the Maharashtra Badminton Association, with support from SVC Co-Operative Bank and Saraswat Co-Operative Bank.

In the Girls’ Under-15 quarter-finals, 1-Anvisha Ghorpade defeated Aaradhya Shukla 15-7, 15-7 with ease.
