Mumbai : Mumbai’s young and talented Shaayan Razmi displayed great composure and fighting spirit to defeat experienced Sahil Nayyar in a thrilling 5-4 quarter-final match of the CCI Snooker Classic 2026 at the Wilson Jones Billiards Hall. The closely fought contest kept spectators engaged till the final frame.

 

Brilliant Comeback with Match-Winning Breaks

The 20-year-old left-hander Shaayan Razmi was trailing 3-4, but produced a strong comeback by compiling crucial breaks of 52 and 48 in the last two frames to clinch a well-deserved 5-4 (57-54, 7-56, 70-33, 51-16, 65-1, 25-71, 31-75, 73-35, 64-32) victory. Sahil Nayyar fought well and registered notable breaks of 65 and 48, but fell short in the deciding moments.

 

Brijesh Damani Registers Dominant Win

Kolkata’s Brijesh Damani was in complete control as he outplayed Mumbai’s Aditya Mehta with a commanding 5-0 (77-21, 74-34, 58-13, 108-0, 76-26) victory. Damani compiled impressive breaks of 69 in the first frame and 80 in the fourth frame to underline his dominance.

 

Digvijay Kadian Advances Comfortably

Punjab’s Digvijay Kadian continued his strong run, defeating Mumbai’s Kreishh Gurbaxani 5-1 (83-23, 62-30, 72-32, 75-15, 67-4, 84-37) to move into the semi-finals with ease.

 

Razmi Earlier Shocked Sourav Kothari

Earlier in the pre-quarter-finals, Shaayan Razmi had already made headlines by defeating top player Sourav Kothari convincingly 4-0 (60-30, 61-34, 59-52, 72-43), showcasing his excellent form in the tournament.

 

Other Notable Results

In other matches, Hassan Badami defeated Kanishk Jhanjaria 4-2, while Sahil Nayyar overcame Mushtaq Khan 4-2. Brijesh Damani also won a hard-fought contest against Manan Chandra 4-3.
