UK Cricketers Experience High-Quality Training in Mumbai
Mumbai:
In an exciting international training initiative, young talents from Cricket
Lovers Global (CLG) Academy, Essex (UK) underwent an intensive cricket
programme in Mumbai, training under renowned coach Jwala Singh, founder
of the Jwala Sports Foundation, at the iconic Oval Maidan, as the
budding U-13 players gained invaluable exposure to Indian conditions and
competitive match play.

Exposure: CLG’s Vision to Develop Young Talent
The
visiting squad from CLG Academy, one of the fastest-growing cricket
academies in the UK, spent 9 days in Mumbai focusing on skill
development and match experience, reflecting the academy’s strong commitment to
providing global exposure to young cricketers, with co-founders Piyush
Somaiya and Rahul Vyas aiming to bring more such teams to India in
the future.
Skill
Development: Focus on Technique, Spin Play and Mental Strength
During the training sessions, the youngsters worked closely with Jwala Singh,
sharpening their mental strength, improving their ability to play
spin, and engaging in structured batting and bowling drills, which
are crucial aspects of adapting to subcontinental playing conditions.
Match
Experience: Valuable Lessons from Competitive Fixtures
The training programme also included competitive matches against local clubs,
where the CLG team played 4 matches and managed to secure 1 victory,
gaining important match experience and learning from challenging situations
during the tour.

The
Mumbai tour proved to be a significant learning curve for the young CLG
Academy cricketers, as training under Jwala Singh and competing in
Indian conditions helped them build confidence, improve technique, and take a
positive step forward in their cricketing journey.
