Young UK Cricketers Experience High-Quality Training in Mumbai

Mumbai: In an exciting international training initiative, young talents from Cricket Lovers Global (CLG) Academy, Essex (UK) underwent an intensive cricket programme in Mumbai, training under renowned coach Jwala Singh, founder of the Jwala Sports Foundation, at the iconic Oval Maidan, as the budding U-13 players gained invaluable exposure to Indian conditions and competitive match play.

Global Exposure: CLG’s Vision to Develop Young Talent

The visiting squad from CLG Academy, one of the fastest-growing cricket academies in the UK, spent 9 days in Mumbai focusing on skill development and match experience, reflecting the academy’s strong commitment to providing global exposure to young cricketers, with co-founders Piyush Somaiya and Rahul Vyas aiming to bring more such teams to India in the future.

Skill Development: Focus on Technique, Spin Play and Mental Strength
During the training sessions, the youngsters worked closely with Jwala Singh, sharpening their mental strength, improving their ability to play spin, and engaging in structured batting and bowling drills, which are crucial aspects of adapting to subcontinental playing conditions.

Match Experience: Valuable Lessons from Competitive Fixtures
The training programme also included competitive matches against local clubs, where the CLG team played 4 matches and managed to secure 1 victory, gaining important match experience and learning from challenging situations during the tour.
