Mumbai : The iconic Shivaji Park Gymkhana (SPG),
regarded as the cradle of Indian cricket, is all set to witness another
electrifying cricketing spectacle! This historic ground, which has produced
some of India’s finest cricketers, will host the prestigious Late Shri Vijay
Manjrekar and Late Shri Ramakant Desai Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament
from 15 April to 18 April 2026, bringing together 16 top teams from
Mumbai for an intense and thrilling contest.

Shivaji Park Gymkhana has long been a cradle of excellence, producing legendary cricketers who
have brought glory to India on the international stage. The tournament pays
rich tribute to Late Shri Vijay Manjrekar, renowned for his technically
sound and resilient batting, and Late Shri Ramakant Desai, celebrated
for his fiery and relentless pace bowling. Their remarkable contributions
continue to inspire generations, making this tournament a fitting homage.
Grand Opening Ceremony
Inauguration by Raj Thackeray Adds Prestige
The grand inauguration of the tournament will be
conducted by Raj Thackeray, President of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena,
adding significant prominence to the event. The tournament is powered by IDBI
Bank as the title sponsor, with LIC as co-sponsor, ensuring a
professionally organized and high-quality cricketing spectacle.
Participation & Venues
16 Top Teams, 4 Grounds, Non-Stop Action
A total of 16 reputed teams from Mumbai will
participate, including Shivaji Park Gymkhana, Cricket Club of India, Islam
Gymkhana, Parsi Gymkhana, PJ Hindu Gymkhana, New Hind Sports Club, MIG Club,
Police Gymkhana, Victory Cricket Club, National Cricket Club, Dr. D. Y. Patil
Sports Academy, Porcofine Cricketers, Young Maharashtra, Karnataka Sports
Association, New Hindu Cricket Club, and Sind Sports Union. Matches will be
played across four venues Shivaji Park Gymkhana, Young Maharashtra,
Bharat Cricket Club, and Bengal Cricket Club in morning and afternoon
sessions, ensuring continuous cricketing excitement.
Tournament Schedule
4-Day Cricket Festival Packed with Action
The tournament will run from 15 April to 18 April 2026,
with matches scheduled daily from 10.00 AM to 5.10 PM. The grand final
match will be played on Saturday from 1.00 PM to 4.10 PM, followed
by the prize distribution ceremony at 5.00 PM. This structured format
ensures maximum exposure and competitive opportunities for all participating
teams.
Prize Money & Awards
Attractive Rewards to Motivate Excellence
The tournament offers lucrative prizes with the winning
team receiving ₹1,00,000 and the runners-up ₹50,000. Individual
excellence will also be rewarded with Man of the Tournament – ₹25,000, Best
Bowler – ₹10,000, and Best Batter – ₹10,000. Additionally, a Man
of the Match award will be presented in every game, encouraging consistent
top performances.

Honours for Sandeep Patil, Madhav Gothoskar, and
Chandrakant Patankar
The prize distribution ceremony will be graced by former Test cricketer Sandeep Patil.
On this special occasion, Madhav Gothoskar (former international umpire)
