Mumbai: Dynamic forward Bhavna Khade delivered a sensational performance by scoring a brilliant hat-trick to guide Union Bank of India (UBI) to an impressive 3-1 victory against Republicans SC Orange in a Women’s Elite League match of the St. Peter’s Cup Hockey Tournament 2026, organised by SPYC and played at the St. Stanislaus High School turf, Bandra on Friday. Bhavna’s attacking display and sharp finishing completely dominated the contest and ensured a memorable win for the bankers.

 

Republicans fight back through Kashish Sheikh

Despite UBI’s strong control over the match, Republicans SC Orange managed to reduce the margin through a goal from Kashish Sheikh. However, Bhavna’s outstanding performance proved decisive as Union Bank maintained their momentum till the final whistle to secure a convincing victory.

 

Santosh Bhosle guides UBI Men to narrow win

Later in the Men’s Elite League encounter, Union Bank of India once again emerged victorious after carving out a hard-fought 1-0 win against Mumbai Port Authority. The closely contested match witnessed disciplined defending from both sides before Santosh Bhosle scored the all-important winning goal for the bankers.

 

SAI White and NBCS ‘B’ also register victories

In another Women’s Elite League match, SAI White defeated Western Railway 2-1. Laldintluangi S. and Akanksha Pal scored for the winning side, while Sonia Singh netted the lone goal for Western Railway.

 

In the Women’s Seniors category, NBCS ‘B’ overcame Duruelo SC by 2-1. Kushi M. and Divya Patil scored for NBCS ‘B’, while Anushka Salvi scored Duruelo’s only goal.

 

Companeroes SC dominate; Republicans and Western share points

In the Men’s Senior division, Companeroes SC registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Hockey Mira Road with goals from Moses Alexander and Cristiano Correia.

 

Meanwhile, the Men’s Elite clash between Republicans SC and Western Railway ended in a closely fought goalless draw as both teams failed to convert their opportunities.
