: Mumbai is all set to witness an electrifying football spectacle as DECA
(D’Assisi Ex-students Charitable Association), in association with the Franciscan
Brothers, will organise the prestigious Bro. Cyprian Memorial Cup
Football Tournament 2026 on May 23 and 24 at the St. Francis
D’Assisi ground, I.C. Colony, Borivali (West). The tournament promises
high-energy competition and enthusiastic participation from teams across the
city.
Open
Tournament Format with Competitive Structure
The
main tournament will be an open competition limited to 24 teams, which
will be divided into 8 groups. Matches will be conducted in a league-cum-knockout
format, with the top team from each group advancing to the
quarter-finals. The tournament is expected to showcase intense rivalries and
quality football action.
Attractive
Rewards and Individual Honours
The
champions will be awarded a trophy and cash prize, while the runners-up
will also receive a trophy and cash award. In addition, individual
excellence will be recognised with special prizes for the Top Goal Scorer
and the Best Goalkeeper, adding further excitement and motivation for
participants.
Veterans
Tournament Adds Special Attraction
Alongside
the main event, a Veterans (50+) tournament will also be conducted on May
23, featuring 12 teams. The winners and runners-up in this category
will likewise receive trophies and cash awards, making it a complete
celebration of football across age groups.
