Exciting Indoor Cricket Format

Indoor Cricket is played with 8 players on the court at a time. Each batting pair gets 2 overs to bat, while every player must bowl 1 over. A unique feature of the format is that every dismissal results in a deduction of 5 runs from the batting team’s total, making every ball highly competitive and exciting.

Media Team Posts 42 Runs

Batting first, the Media Team scored 42 runs in their allotted 8 overs. Ankush Dhavare scored 10 runs (15-5=10) while Kiran Mahanwar added 6 runs (11-5=6) to provide a solid start. Rohan and Omkar claimed one wicket each during the opening partnership. The second pair of Siddhesh Kanse (7 runs) and Nikunj Natekar (-3 runs) could add only 4 runs, with Khush and Prasad bowling effectively. Later, Atul Loke (7 runs) and Anvay Sawant (5 runs) contributed 12 runs, while captain Rohit Naik scored 4 runs. For Vyom Foundation, Rohan, Omkar, Khush, Prasad, Ajit, and Shreyas bowled with discipline and kept striking at regular intervals.

Aniket, Prasad and Omkar Shine in Vyom Foundation Victory

Chasing a target of 43 runs, Vyom Foundation Indoor Cricket Club had a shaky start as Shreyas Vaidya and Khush Shah managed only 5 runs together. Bowlers Ganesh Puranik and Siddhesh Kanse kept tight control in the opening overs. However, the second pair of Rohan Gavde (10 runs) and Ajit Sethi (10 runs) steadied the innings with a valuable 20-run partnership. The game then turned decisively in Vyom Foundation’s favour when Aniket Madiye smashed 18 runs and Prasad Ambre scored 14 runs, attacking the bowling with confidence. In the final partnership, captain Omkar Patole played a crucial knock of 13 runs, while Shubham Gurav added 12 runs, helping the team reach 82 runs and secure a commanding 40-run victory.

“More Practice Would Have Helped Us” – Subhash Harchekar

After the match, Media Team manager Subhash Harchekar said, “With a little more practice, we could have delivered a much better performance. Indoor Cricket allows teams to bounce back at any moment. The biggest advantage of this format is that every player gets an equal opportunity in batting, bowling and fielding.”
