Mumbai : In a stunning display of attacking hockey, Bhavana Khade continued her sensational form by scoring yet another hat-trick to guide Union Bank of India (UBI) to a commanding 5-1 victory against Sports Authority of India (SAI) White in a Women’s Elite League match of the St. Peter’s Hockey Tournament 2026, organised by SPYC and played at the St. Stanislaus High School turf ground, Bandra on Monday. Bhavana’s outstanding finishing and energetic movement proved too strong for the opposition defence throughout the match.

 

Shania and Chandana add finishing touches

Apart from Bhavana’s brilliant three-goal performance, the enterprising Shania Thangamma and Chandana J. chipped in with one goal each to complete Union Bank’s dominant victory. SAI White managed to score their lone goal through Dechamma P.G., but it was not enough to stop the determined UBI side.

 

Mumbai Customs edge past CTC HC in thrilling contest

In the Men’s division, Mumbai Customs produced a fighting performance to defeat CTC HC by a narrow 3-2 margin. The star performer for Customs was Jayesh Jadhav, who struck two crucial goals, while Romesh Pillay added another goal to secure the victory. For CTC HC, M. Babu and Ajay Naidu scored one goal each in a spirited losing effort.

 

Mumbai Ports Authority secure solid victory

Another exciting Men’s encounter witnessed Mumbai Ports Authority register a hard-fought 2-1 win over Coorg XI. Stephen Swamy emerged as the match-winner by scoring both goals for the Ports side, while Bharath M.R. netted the lone goal for Coorg XI.

 

Central Railway and Warriors SC also impress

In another Women’s match, Central Railway defeated Republicans SC Orange 2-0 with goals from Khushi Kataria and Sujata Kujur.

 

Meanwhile, Warriors SC enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 win against NBCS ‘A’. Wilma Kanan scored twice, while Akshaya Shetty and Priya Dubey added one goal each to complete the emphatic victory.
