The Tax Sahi Hai Premier League (TPL) – Season 3, held at Chitrakoot
Turf, Andheri, concluded on a high note with thrilling contests across
three categories – Women's Underarm (TPL 3.2), Men's Underarm (TPL 3.0)
and Men's Indoor Cricket (TPL 3.1). The highlight of the tournament was Viyom
Foundation Indoor Cricket Club, which stormed to the Indoor Cricket title
after thrashing Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) by a massive 124
runs in the final. Captain Omkar Patole, who displayed outstanding
leadership, batting and tactical brilliance throughout the competition, was
adjudged the Player of the Tournament.
Three Categories, Three Champions, Startup Strikers owned
The tournament produced three deserving champions across
different categories. In the Women's Underarm (TPL 3.2) competition, Startup
Strikers, owned by CA Sneha Patil, defeated Refund Rangers,
owned by CA Mahima Agrawal, by 8 wickets. Chasing a target of 28
runs, Startup Strikers reached 28 runs in 4.3 overs after Refund
Rangers had scored 27 runs in 6 overs. CA Ruchi Borole from the MGA
Pune Branch was declared the Player of the Match for her brilliant
unbeaten 16-run innings, which included 1 six and 1 four.
GST Gladiators Lift Men's Underarm Trophy
In the Men's Underarm (TPL 3.0) final, GST
Gladiators, led by Gaurav Agrawal, elected to bat first after
winning the toss and posted 44 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 8
overs. Their opponents, Tax Titans, made a confident start, scoring 18
runs for the loss of 1 wicket in the first 2 overs, but failed to
maintain the momentum. Regular wickets derailed their chase as they finished on
32 runs for 9 wickets in 8 overs, handing GST Gladiators a
convincing 12-run victory. Aniruddha Raut starred with an
all-round performance, scoring 17 runs and claiming 3 wickets in a
single over.
Viyom Foundation Dominates the Indoor Cricket Final
In the prestigious Men's Indoor Cricket (TPL 3.1)
category, Viyom Foundation completely outclassed Brihanmumbai
Municipal Corporation to emerge deserving champions.
Omkar Patole's Counter-Attack Turns the Match
After winning the toss, BMC opted to bowl first
and made an excellent start as Rupesh Chunekar and Rishikesh Jadhav
dismissed Shreyas three times, restricting Viyom Foundation's opening
pair to just 4 runs. However, Captain Omkar Patole launched a
brilliant counter-attack with an aggressive 20-run knock. He received
valuable support from Ashwin Dongre and Prasad Ambre, who added 29
runs, while Aniket Madiye and Rohit Kharat finished strongly
with 26 runs, helping Viyom Foundation post a competitive total of 79
runs.
Disciplined Bowling Crushes BMC
Chasing 80 runs, the Brihanmumbai Municipal
Corporation batting line-up collapsed under relentless pressure from Viyom
Foundation's disciplined bowling attack. Attempting big shots, the batters kept
losing wickets at regular intervals. Under the Indoor Cricket scoring system, 17
dismissals resulted in a deduction of 85 runs, reducing BMC to minus
45 runs. Viyom Foundation registered a sensational 124-run victory
to lift the TPL-3 Indoor Cricket Championship.
Omkar Patole Named Player of the Tournament
Omkar Patole
was named the Player of the Tournament for his exceptional consistency,
inspirational captaincy, aggressive batting and intelligent match strategy.
Under his leadership, Viyom Foundation crossed the 100-run mark
in every league-stage match, proving themselves to be the strongest title
contenders.
Mohsin Khan's Signed Memorabilia Honours Top Performers
A major attraction of the tournament was the presentation
of a bat and ball personally signed by IPL fast bowler Mohsin Khan. In
the Women's category, Mansi received the signed ball for her
outstanding performance. In the Men's Underarm category, Sudhir Gupta
was honoured with the signed bat as the Best Batsman, while Sumit
received the signed ball as the Best Bowler. In the Men's Indoor
Cricket category, Omkar Patole was presented with Mohsin Khan's
signed bat in recognition of his remarkable all-round performance.
