with Triple Crown
Otters Club cueist wins 3 Maharashtra State
titles in Sub-Junior Snooker, Sub-Junior Billiards and Junior Billiards
Mumbai : At just 12 years of age, Agastya Mittal of Otters Club has
created history in Maharashtra cue sports, winning 3 state titles at the
Maharashtra State Billiards & Snooker Championships held at Khar Gymkhana.
Three State Titles in One Championship
Agastya won Gold in Sub-Junior Snooker,
Sub-Junior Billiards and Junior Billiards, completing a remarkable Triple
Crown. His achievement is even more special as he competed in the Junior
Billiards category against older and more experienced players.
Dominant 3-0 Win in Snooker Final
Agastya finished his impressive campaign
with a commanding performance in the Sub-Junior Snooker final. He defeated Dev
Jaisingh of Khar Gymkhana 3-0 in the best-of-five final, winning the frames
66-63, 70-30 and 53-33.
Strong Show in Sub-Junior Billiards
In Sub-Junior Billiards, Agastya defeated Bilal
Shaikh of Islam Gym 238-39, followed by a 243-97 win over Hasnain
of Mazagaon Club and a 215-88 victory against Nivaan Shah of
Matunga Gym.
Beats Older Players in Junior Billiards
Agastya also showed his class in the Junior
Billiards category. He defeated Rajveer Rajdhyaksha of Pune 240-215, Ayan
Siddiqui 232-212 and Ibrahim Merchant of Mazagaon Club 230-194 to
claim the state title.
A Special Achievement at 12
Winning 3 Maharashtra State titles in
different categories in a single championship is a major achievement for the
young cueist. Agastya displayed strong technique, consistency and competitive
discipline throughout the tournament.
Training Under Yasin Merchant
A Mumbai-based cue-sports player, Agastya
Mittal trains under legendary coach and former 2-time Asian Snooker
Champion Yasin Merchant. Representing Otters Club, he competes in
both snooker and billiards and has been participating in state and
national-level junior events.
A Major Milestone in His Young Career
Agastya’s Triple Crown marks an
important milestone in his developing cue-sports career. At just 12, his
success across Sub-Junior and Junior categories has established him as one of
the young players to watch in Maharashtra cue sports.
