Teams Enter Semifinals at 34th National Kho-Kho Championship in Simdega,
Jharkhand
Simdega, Jharkhand, October 1: Both
Maharashtra teams have advanced to the semifinals of the 34th National Kho-Kho
Championship for adolescents, currently underway at Albert Ekka Stadium in
Pushpur.In the girls' semifinal match, Maharashtra will face Rajasthan, while
the boys' team will compete against Odisha.
In the girls' quarterfinal match this
morning, Maharashtra's team secured a victory over Vidarbha by one inning and a
margin of 20 points. Siddi Bhosale defended 3.00 meters, while Vedika Kamkhede
defended 2.00 and 1.30 meters, taking one wicket. Shravanita Tamakhede
performed outstandingly, remaining unbeaten with defenses of 2.00 meters and
1.40 meters, claiming three wickets. Gauri Yadav and Ishwari Sutar each took
three wickets. From the Vidarbha team, Durga Gavtade took one wicket while
defending 1.30 meters.
In other girls' matches, Rajasthan
defeated Punjab by six points to reach the semifinals, while Karnataka edged
out Chhattisgarh by two points. Tamil Nadu also secured a narrow victory over
West Bengal by two points, setting up a second semifinal match between Tamil
Nadu and Karnataka.
In the boys' quarterfinals,
Maharashtra's team dominated West Bengal, winning by a remarkable 28 points.
Prasad Belip defended 3.30 meters in the first inning, while Vinayak Bhange
defended 2.20 meters. Bhimsing Vasave provided defense for 1.30 meters and 1.40
meters, taking five wickets in the process. Sujay Chavan took six wickets, and
Mayur Jadhav claimed three.
In the other boys' quarterfinal match,
Telangana defeated Andhra Pradesh, while Odisha won against Karnataka, and
Telangana also triumphed over Delhi.
