Mumbai, November 22: In a thrilling encounter in the third round of the MCA Women’s Cricket League 2024, Fort Youngsters secured a commanding 29-run victory over Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation, thanks to a spectacular bowling performance from left-arm spinner Vedika Mager.

Playing at the Yashwant Nagar ground in Virar on Friday, Fort Youngsters, after opting to bat first, struggled to set a challenging total, bowled out for just 100 runs in 28.5 overs. Shanmaya Upadhyay was the top scorer with a gritty 27, while Kritika Krishnakumar starred with the ball for Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation, claiming 5 wickets for 25 runs.

Chasing a modest target, the Vengsarkar Foundation were bundled out for just 71 runs in 20.3 overs, with Vedika Mager delivering a match-winning performance. Her exceptional spell of 5 wickets for 12 runs dismantled the opposition’s batting lineup, while Janhavi Kate supported with 2 wickets for 23 runs.

This remarkable bowling effort from Vedika was the key factor in Fort Youngsters’ victory, propelling them to the top of the table in the fifth-round match.
