Sangelkar wins National Youth Girl’s Under-13 Title
Mumbai, November 21: Mumbai's promising and
talented paddler, Myraa Sangelkar, who represents the Suburban Table Tennis
Association (TSTTA), had a stellar performance at the Panchkula National
Ranking Tournament, winning the Youth Girl’s Under-13 title.
The Maharashtra native, Myraa, defeated West
Bengal’s Shariqa Shahid 3-2 in a tense and exciting final.
Myraa, who trains at the Pro TT Academy and
is a student at Vissanji Academy, has shown significant improvement in her
game.
She was in complete control from the start,
winning the first two games to take a 2-0 lead. However, Shariqa made a strong
comeback, clinching the next two games to level the match at 2-2. In the
deciding fifth game, Myraa regained her composure, combining aggression and
poise to seal the win 3-2 (11-9, 12-10, 6-11, 9-11, 11-8) in a dramatic finish.
Earlier, at the TSTTA District Championship,
Myraa claimed her first triple crown, winning the Girls’ Under-13, Under-15,
and Under-17 titles. These victories gave her the confidence she needed heading
into the Nationals.
