Mumbai, The mixed doubles match witnessed intense competition from both teams. Vernost Jaguars’ Alex Arroyo and María Virginia Riera, initially trailing 1-4, staged a remarkable comeback, pushing the set into a tiebreak and eventually securing a 7-6 win against the Panthers’ duo of Rama Valenzuela and Marina Guinart.

In the first men's doubles match, the Panthers’ Javier Barahona and Javier Garcia faced an evenly matched contest against Vernost Jaguars’ David Gala and Aris Patiniotis. Both teams held their serves throughout the set, leading to a tiebreaker. In the decisive moments, the Panthers edged past the Jaguars with a 7-6 victory, leveling the overall score at 13-13.

 

In the women's doubles match, the Panthers’ Sofia Araujo and Marta Ortega took an early 3-0 lead. However, Vernost Jaguars’ Alejandra Salazar and Tamara Icardo fought back to narrow the gap. Despite their resilience, the Panthers maintained their advantage and secured a 6-4 set win, extending their overall lead to 19-17.

 


In the final match, Vernost Jaguars’ Lucas Campagnolo and David Gala Sanchez delivered a strong performance, securing a comfortable 6-3 win over the Panthers’ Javier Leal and Sanyo Gutierrez. Their victory sealed the season opener for Vernost Jaguars with a narrow 23-22 triumph.

 


Following the match, Vernost Jaguars' Alejandra Salazar said, "Today was our first experience adapting to the court and atmosphere, and it was fantastic! We fought hard against a strong opponent, and it feels great to earn valuable points on the opening day."
