Pipers Cheetahs Clinch Meteora Developers World Padel League Title with 24-15 Win
Mumbai, SG Pipers Cheetahs emerged
victorious in the Meteora Developers World Padel League, securing a
dominant 24-15 win over Vernost Jaguars in the final at the Nesco
Center, Mumbai. After four days of high-intensity padel action, the
Cheetahs claimed the championship with a commanding performance.
Thrilling Final Showdown
The final began with mixed doubles,
where Pol Hernandez and Julieta Bidahorria of SG Pipers Cheetahs took an
early 3-0 lead. However, Vernost Jaguars’ Alejandro Arroyo and María
Riera responded with three consecutive games, leveling the set at 3-3.
The Cheetahs bounced back to take a 5-3 lead, but the Jaguars staged
another comeback, winning four straight games to take the set 7-5.
In women’s doubles, Vernost
Jaguars’ Alejandra Salazar and Tamara Icardo broke SG Pipers Cheetahs' Claudia
Fernandez and Beatriz Gonzalez in the opening game. However, the Cheetahs
quickly countered with a break of their own. From that point onward, Fernandez
and Gonzalez dominated the match, winning six consecutive games to claim a 6-1
victory. This crucial win put SG Pipers Cheetahs 11-8 ahead in the
overall game count.
The men’s doubles match was a
tightly contested battle. Enrique Goenaga and Teodoro Zapata from SG
Pipers Cheetahs held their nerve in the tiebreak, defeating Vernost Jaguars’ David
Sanchez and Aris Patiniotis 7-6. This win extended their team’s lead
to 18-14, giving them a crucial advantage heading into the final set.
The decisive men’s doubles set
saw a dominant display from Francisco Guerrero and Juanlu Esbri of SG
Pipers Cheetahs. They overpowered Vernost Jaguars’ Lucas Campagnolo and
Maximiliano Sanchez, securing a 6-1 victory. With this emphatic win,
SG Pipers Cheetahs sealed a massive 24-15 overall triumph, crowning
them champions of the tournament.
A Historic Debut for the World Padel
League in India
With backing from the Indian Padel
Federation (IPF), the Meteora Developers World Padel League, owned
by ID Info Business Services Ltd. and powered by Maisour, made a
spectacular debut in India. The tournament captivated fans and
introduced Indian audiences to top-tier padel action, marking a historic
milestone for the sport in the country.
Following the success of its India
debut, the World Padel League is set to return in August 2025, promising
an even more exciting and action-packed edition.

Expressing his delight, SG Pipers
Cheetahs’ Enrique Goenaga said, “It has been an amazing week for us. I
want to congratulate my teammates for this incredible win. We played at a high

His teammate Juanlu Esbri
added, “It was fantastic playing in front of Indian fans. Their enthusiasm was
