Kolhapur: The State Ranking Carrom Tournament, organized by Shambhuraje Friends Circle on the occasion of MLA Satej Patil’s birthday, is heating up as the men’s and women’s singles semi-final lineups take shape.

 

In the men’s singles quarter-final, Pune’s Abhijit Tripankar defeated fellow Pune player Anil Mundhe in a thrilling three-setter with scores of 25-11, 5-25, 25-8. Notably, Abhijit registered a White Slam in the sixth board of the final set, showcasing exceptional skill.

 

In the women’s category, Kesar Nirgun from Sindhudurg made a remarkable comeback after losing the first set 0-25 to Samruddhi Ghadigaonkar (Thane), clinching the match 25-1, 18-13 and booking her spot in the semi-finals.
