Akanksha Kadam and Sagar Waghmare Clinch State Carrom Titles in Kolhapur

 

Kolhapur : The State Ranking Carrom Tournament, organized by Shambhuraje Friends Circle, Kolhapur on the occasion of MLA Satej Patil’s birthday, concluded on a thrilling note with outstanding performances in the finals.

 

In the Men’s Singles Final:

Sagar Waghmare (Pune) defeated Vikas Dharia (Mumbai) in straight sets 24-14, 25-15, showcasing precision and composure to claim the coveted title.

 

In the Women’s Singles Final:

Akanksha Kadam (Ratnagiri) outplayed Kesar Nirgun (Sindhudurg) 25-7, 25-15 in dominant fashion to lift the women’s crown.

 

Third Place Playoffs:

Prajkta Narayankar (Mumbai Suburbs) beat Madhura Devle (Thane) to secure the third position in women’s singles.

 

Abhijit Tripankar (Pune) defeated Pankaj Pawar (Thane) to finish third in the men’s singles.

 

The top 8 players in each category were awarded cash prizes and trophies. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by dignitaries from the Maharashtra Carrom Association including Honorary Secretary Arun Kedar, Treasurer Ajit Sawant, Joint Secretary Yogesh Phansalkar, and Vijay Jadhav from the Kolhapur District Amateur Carrom Association, along with chief referee Suryakant Patil and office bearers from the Chhatrapati Shambhuraje Mandal.
