Mumbai : Striker Reuben Fernandes delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 2 goals to guide Catholic Gymkhana to a convincing 4-1 victory over Naval Dockyard in the MFA Super Corporate League at the Karnatak SA Ground, Churchgate. His attacking brilliance played a key role in securing the team’s third consecutive win.

 

Strong First Half Gives Early Advantage

Catholic Gymkhana took control early in the match and went into half-time with a 2-1 lead. In the 11th minute, Karan Kapoor set up Reuben Fernandes, who calmly beat goalkeeper Kundan Dhanu with a precise finish. Later, in the 28th minute, Kastubh Meher capitalised on a goal-mouth scramble to score and double the lead.

 

Naval Dockyard Pull One Back Before Break

Just before half-time, Naval Dockyard got an opportunity to reduce the deficit when a handball by Kingston Pereira resulted in a penalty. Milind Meher successfully converted the spot-kick, bringing the score to 2-1 at the interval.

 

Reuben and Karan Seal the Victory

After the break, Reuben Fernandes struck again with a powerful low left-footed shot to extend the lead to 3-1. Soon after, Karan Kapoor finished off a fine through pass from Reuben with a composed strike past the advancing goalkeeper, sealing an emphatic 4-1 win.
