Mumbai : Mumbai witnessed an exciting blend of legal intellect and
cricketing passion as the 2nd Legal Cup Cricket Tournament got off to a fabulous start
at Islam Gymkhana, Marine Lines. With participation from 14 law colleges,
the opening day delivered thrill, quality and high-energy performances, as VIVEKANAND
EDUCATION SOCIETY LAW COLLEGE (VES) registered a commanding victory to set
the tone for the tournament.
GRAND
OPENING CEREMONY : PRESENCE OF DISTINGUISHED DIGNITARIES
The
tournament, jointly organised by MODERN EDUCATION SOCIETY’S NEW LAW COLLEGE,
MUMBAI and the MUMBAI CRICKET ASSOCIATION, began on a high note with
the presence of eminent dignitaries including NILESH BHOSALE, VITTHAL
KONDEDESHMUKH, DR. SHIVANI SHELAR, DEEPAK PATIL, and JWALA
SINGH. The initiative taken by JWALA SINGH to promote this
competition received special appreciation.

The
tournament features a competitive field of 14 teams, namely NEW LAW
COLLEGE, MUMBAI, ANAND VISHWA GURUKUL LAW COLLEGE, VASANTDADA
PATIL PRATISHTHAN LAW COLLEGE, RIZVI LAW COLLEGE, K.E.S.
JAYANTILAL PATEL LAW COLLEGE, AGNEL SCHOOL OF LAW, G.N.V.S. LAW
COLLEGE, SIDDHARTH LAW COLLEGE, DR. AMBEDKAR LAW COLLEGE, CHEMBUR
KARNATAK LAW COLLEGE, KAMALTAI KATHORE LAW COLLEGE, SUBHASH DESAI

MAYUR
KAMBLE STEALS THE SHOW : MATCH-WINNING ALL-ROUND PERFORMANCE
In
the opening match, VES LAW COLLEGE secured a convincing win over CHEMBUR
KARNATAK LAW COLLEGE, thanks to a fabulous all-round
display by MAYUR KAMBLE. He first impressed with the ball, claiming 2
wickets for just 9 runs while restricting the opposition to 144 runs.
He then delivered a match-winning knock of 78 runs off 33 balls, playing
a decisive role in his team’s victory.
RISHI
PADWAL’S HEROIC EFFORT : 92-RUN KNOCK GOES IN VAIN
For CHEMBUR KARNATAK LAW COLLEGE, RISHI PADWAL fought a lone
battle, smashing an outstanding 92 runs off 56 balls. Despite his
brilliant innings, lack of support from other batsman resulted in his team falling short,
turning his effort into a valiant but unsuccessful attempt.
VASANTDADA
PATIL COLLEGE TRIUMPHS : DISCIPLINED BOWLING MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
In
another match, VASANTDADA PATIL PRATISHTHAN LAW COLLEGE posted a
competitive total of 108 runs in 14 overs. Their bowlers then executed a
disciplined performance to restrict AGNEL SCHOOL OF LAW to 91 runs,
thereby registering an impressive opening victory in the tournament.

The
