In a thrilling and high-scoring final packed with powerful strokeplay and
competitive spirit, Rizvi Law College emerged champions of the Vidhi
Chashak Law College Men’s Cricket Tournament 2026, defeating KES Shri
Jayantilal H. Patel Law College by 34 runs at the MCA Ground, BKC.
The tournament, organised by Modern Education Society’s New Law College,
Mumbai in collaboration with the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA),
witnessed an electrifying finale where Rizvi displayed dominance with both bat
and ball.
Rohan
Bhosle’s Match-Winning Knock Sets the Tone
Batting
first, Rizvi Law College posted an imposing total of 215 for 6 in 20
overs, riding on a शानदार innings by Rohan Bhosle, who
smashed a brilliant 93 runs, anchoring the innings with authority. He
was well supported by Gokul Kochey, who contributed a valuable 40
runs, ensuring a strong and competitive total on the board.
Nirupam
Patil and Aryan Nayak Fight Hard in Chase
In
reply, KES Shri Jayantilal H. Patel Law College put up a determined
fight but fell short, scoring 181 for 3 in 20 overs. Nirupam Patil
led the chase with an impressive 68 runs, while Aryan Nayak
played a solid supporting role with 64 runs. Despite their strong
partnership and steady batting, the target proved too steep, and Rizvi
maintained control to seal the victory.

Grace Prize Distribution Ceremony
The
prize distribution ceremony was graced by Justice R. M. Joshi, Judge of
the Bombay High Court, as the Chief Guest, and Diana Edulji, former
Indian women’s cricketer, as the Guest of Honour. Also present were Unmesh
Khanvilkar, Secretary, MCA, and Nilesh Bhosle, Joint Secretary, MCA,
who applauded the performances and encouraged the young cricketers.
Individual
Awards Recognise Outstanding Performers
The
tournament also celebrated individual excellence, with Smit Dave (Rizvi Law
College) being awarded the Best Bowler of the Tournament, while Gokul
Kochey (Rizvi Law College) earned the Best Batsman of the Tournament
title. The prestigious Man of the Series award was claimed by Jayesh
Mhatre (New Law College) for his consistent all-round performance
throughout the tournament.
