Mumbai: The Tax Sahi Hai Premier League (TPL) – Season 3 got off to a spectacular start at Chitrakoot Turf, Andheri, with thrilling indoor cricket action creating a festive atmosphere. Organised by the MGA Foundation under the recognition of the Mahamumbai Indoor Cricket Sports Association, the tournament witnessed exciting contests being played simultaneously on four turfs, much to the delight of players and spectators. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Vyom Foundation opened their campaigns with impressive victories.

Rupesh Chunekar Shines as BMC Edges Past Corporate Commanders

In the opening match, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation defeated Corporate Commanders by a narrow margin of 67-65 in a thrilling contest. Rupesh Chunekar starred with an outstanding all-round performance, scoring 19 runs while conceding just 4 runs with the ball to earn the Player of the Match award. Pravin Rote contributed 11 runs, while Prashant Jadhav added 12 runs to strengthen BMC's winning effort. For Corporate Commanders, Salim scored 13 runs, but Rohit and Mahesh failed to make a significant impact.

Vyom Foundation Crushes Falcon Founder by 95 Runs

In the second league match, Vyom Foundation recorded a commanding 95-run victory over Falcon Founder, winning the match 107-12. After winning the toss and opting to defend first, Vyom Foundation dominated the game with disciplined bowling and sharp fielding. Ashwin Dongre and Rohit Kharat ripped through the opposition batting line-up, dismissing 11 players between them and restricting Falcon Founder to just 12 runs. As per Indoor Cricket rules, five runs are deducted for every dismissal, which further reduced Falcon Founder's total.

Ashwin Dongre played a brilliant all-round role with 21 runs and 3 wickets, while Rohit Kharat scored 16 runs and claimed 5 wickets to steer Vyom Foundation to a comfortable victory. Prasad also made a valuable contribution with 18 runs, ensuring a comprehensive win. Vyom Foundation dominated in all three departments—batting, bowling and fielding—to register one of the most convincing victories of the opening day.

The tournament was inaugurated in the presence of several distinguished guests, including Adv. Rajnarayan Yadav (Vice President, BJP North-West District, Mumbai), CA Manish Agrawal (President, MGA Foundation), Bal Toraskar (Founder Secretary, Mahamumbai Indoor Cricket Association), CA Mahima Agrawal (Vice President, MGA Foundation), CA Dheeraj Oswal (Pune), CA Dinesh Bachas (Delhi), CA Bhargav Doshi (Ahmedabad), CA Kusum Mishra (Kolkata), Jotika Rai (Nagpur), Sneha Patil (Mumbai), Purushottam Yadav (Vice President, Samajwadi Party, North-West District, Mumbai), Vinaya Toraskar (President, Vyom Foundation), Adv.
